Purpose of this
document
To serve as a basis for discussion and improving the specification,
sharing ideas, etc etc
NB These pages are
seriously stale by now... Please visit the Bika

Document history – Important notes to Version 2.0
HTML wireframe model has been integrated in version 2
Only functionality additional to that already available in Bika
is discussed here. The specification for the original Bika, customised
to wine lab specs, and which is used in the bika online demo, was
written in Afrikaans. The system is pretty well described in the
Laboratory Manual available for download at http://www.bikalabs.com/manual/
Document convention
All use cases are acted out by role players which can be the LIMS
itself, other interfaced systems or any user authorised as admin,
labmanager, labtechnician, labclerk or client
In most cases client refers to the client’s contact,
their representatives in the system
Wire frame model
Many links in this document lead directly to corresponding functions
in a HTML 'wire frame' model

Proof of e-mail

Impossible with current SMTP mail serving technology. Instead the
responsibility to report non-delivery are shifted to clients by
informing them to “Please contact laboratory if results are
not posted within 7 working days” |
